Nam Se Hee is a single man in his late 30’s. He has chosen to not marry. He owns his home, but he owes a lot on his mortgage.
Yoon Ji Ho is a single woman in her early 30’s. She does not own a home and envies those that do. She has given up on dating due to her financial struggles. Yoon Ji Ho begins to live at Nam Se Hee’s house. They become housemates.
I simply love this drama. It felt so surprisingly fresh in so many ways. I find most of the realizations are sensible and mature. I like the chemistry of the main actors, where the cold fact Nam Se Hee (Lee Min-Ki) and the naive dreamer Yoon Ji Ho (Jung So-Min) face together with their differences and how they compromise the complications of their “marriage contract”. They have played their roles dramatically which made me want to have both of their characters in my life; being naive and realistic.
I could still feel the intensity and emotions they have held for each other in a long time and just burst out of nowhere when they couldn’t control it anymore. There are some cliché monologue, metaphors and thought-provoking lines that will rip your heart and made you think for a minute.
This drama offers also the other side love stories. We have here Soo Ji’s (Esom) rebel character, incapable to commit a relationship except for physical attachment, where Mr. Ma (Park Byung-Eun) is the ideal guy who wants to have a normal relationship with her.
Sim Won Seok (Kim Min-Suk) and Yang Ho Rang (Kim Ga-Eun) portray are the most relatable characters as couples who love each other very much but have struggled to learn each other’s wants. They have to embark on a course of decision making of what is more important in their relationship.
I love the OST too. It entwines so well in every dialogue and helps the tone of the drama more credible and touching.
The plot is awesome, though it became slow in the middle of the episodes, still turned out its best, why? because it was full of moments that people could relate to. There is no alien feelings, its all about needing to love and be loved.
Of course, who will forget this adorable cat who stole my heart through the series? Woori knows everything that had happened between the two main leads inside the house! wink wink!
